We
turn Iron Maiden albums into football shirts! The Powerslave model was
inspired by the cover of the album of the same name, released by the
British band in 1984. The main image refers to ancient Egypt and,
therefore, the characteristic hieroglyphs of the time are everywhere.
Eddie, transformed into an Egyptian sphinx, is featured in the shield's
embroidery.
Developed and approved together with Iron Maiden,
the band's line of official football shirts were produced with the same
quality and technology as the shirts used by major clubs around the
world.
The main feature of the Powerslave model is the
predominant color, which refers to the desert sands of Egypt. Blue was
also used on the front of the shirt, which is a shade that is very
present in the original illustration of the album. To fill the entire
front of the model, dozens of hieroglyphs that make up the details of
the pyramid on the cover were reproduced. The embroidered shield
features Powerslave's signature Eddie face - an Egyptian sphinx - with
the inscription “Maiden F.C.”, making a reference to how we turn every
Iron Maiden studio album into a team.
The shirt was made in a
different model, and has sublimated sleeves, alternating sand tones
with blue stripes. The cuffs, also in blue, feature gold details – as
well as the model's collar. The band's name is applied in
thermo-adhesive adhesive, with the same font used in the English brand,
and follows the tones present on the original cover.
On the back
of the shirt, the model bears the number 84, corresponding to the year
of the album's release, applied in blue and white stickers. The
inscription “Powerslave”, referencing the inspiration album, is
sublimated at the nape of the neck.
The official product seal
completes the model - rubberized in polyurethane - applied on the
front, along the hem of the shirt, certifying that the fan is purchasing
an original and exclusive product, licensed and approved by Iron Maiden
itself.
